George Michael/Listen Without Prejudice

Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 is the second solo studio album by the English singer George Michael, originally released on 3 September 1990. The album was Michael’s final album of all-new material on Columbia Records until 2004’s Patience. After the massive success of Michael’s 1987 Faith album, the expectations for his follow-up album were also high. In September 1990, Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 was a stark departure from the previous LP, with largely acoustic instrumentation and a somber intensity in many of the lyrics and melodies. George Michael wanted to be taken more seriously as a songwriter, which resulted in a more thoughtful, often moody recording. The album peaked at #2 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Limited vinyl LP pressing. Thelonious in Action: Recorded at the Five Spot Cafe is a 1958 album by jazz musician Thelonious Monk. The album was recorded live at the Five Spot Cafe. Thelonious Monk was an American jazz pianist and composer. Monk had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire. Monk is the second most-recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington, which is particularly remarkable as Ellington composed more than a thousand pieces, whereas Monk wrote about 70. His compositions and improvisations feature dissonances and angular melodic twists, and are consistent with Monk’s unorthodox approach to the piano, which combined a highly percussive attack with abrupt, dramatic use of switched key releases, silences and hesitations.
Wes Montgomery/The Wes Montgomery Trio
Vinyl LP pressing. The Wes Montgomery Trio (or A Dynamic New Sound: Guitar Organ Drums) is the third album by American jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery, released in 1959. The track “Missile Blues” is named after the club Montgomery regularly played at in Indianapolis before his move to New York to record for Riverside. It was at this club that he first met producer Orrin Keepnews. Montgomery was an American jazz guitarist. He is widely considered one of the major jazz guitarists, emerging after such seminal figures as Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian and influencing countless others. Montgomery was known for an unusual technique of plucking the strings with the side of his thumb which granted him a distinctive sound.

Studio One Supreme Maximum 70’s & 80’s Early Dancehall Sounds
By the 1970s Studio One and Clement Sir Coxsone Dodd had already proved himself to be the defining force in Reggae for almost two decades. From running the Downbeat sound system on the lawns and yards of Kingston in the late 1950s to opening Studio One at 13 Brentford Road at the start of the 1960s, ushering in Ska and Rocksteady and establishing the careers of most of Jamaicas artists everyone from Bob Marley and The Wailers, Ken Boothe, Toots and The Maytals, The Skatalites, Jackie Mittoo and more Clement Dodd had until this point dominated the Jamaican musical world. And yet, incredibly, Clement Dodd was barely half way through his musical path, maintaining Studio Ones number one position in the Jamaican music scene throughout the 1970s with a combination of musical and creative innovation and an endless capacity to adapt and create new musical fashions. By the end of the 1970s Dancehall had become the defining sound on the island. Dancehall was essentially a tribute by other Jamaican producers and artists to the classic music of Studio One created in the 1960s as young artists across the island created new songs, while musicians recreated these original classic foundation Studio One rhythms. As on other occasions, Clement Dodd rose to this new musical challenge by producing a whole new era of classics for Studio One. The roots of Dancehall begin with the DJs of the early 1970s, who were the first to sing new material over earlier classic rhythms. Early DJ pioneers such as Dillinger and Prince Jazzbo both feature here toasting over classic songs – The Mad Lads Ten to One and The Eternals Queen of the Minstrel. But it is the new wave of artists who arrived at Studio One at the onset of Dancehall which enabled Studio One to maintain its number one status as the whole of Kingstons rival music producers Channel One, Joe Gibbs and many others attempted to challenge this position. Sugar Minott, Michigan and Smiley, Willie Williams, Lone Ranger had all grown up listening to the classic Studio One music of the 1960s and were able to pay the greatest compliment to the label by creating the defining new music of this new era with songs that combined all the musical and technological developments of the 1970s dub, deejaying, discomixes, syndrums, synthesizers and more into the sound of the future: Dancehall. Throughout this era Clement Dodd also continued to work with a number of original and returning artists such as Alton Ellis, Horace Andy, Freddie McGregor, Johnny Osbourne updating old rhythms and creating new ones while employing the in-house band variously known as The Brentford All- Stars/Rockers/Disco Set to update these sounds in order to maintain Studio Ones number one position as the defining force in Reggae.
Margo Price/All American Made
Vinyl LP pressing. A lot can change in a year: markets boom and bust, trends come and go, presidents get elected. In 2015, Margo Price was a country underdog just trying to keep enough gas in the tank to get to the next gig, but by the end of 2016, she was one of the genre’s most celebrated new artists and a ubiquitous presence on late night television and at major festivals around the world. Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats/Vol. 1
Limited 180gm purple colored vinyl LP pressing, includes digital download. Originally released in 2010, Vol 1 was the first efforts of unknown songwriter, Kevin Starrs. Pressed in small numbers for a non-existing fan base, the album took several months to shift all 30 CD-R copies and provided a small platform to fund it’s follow up, Blood Lust (2011). Recorded on a tight budget of stashed dole money and with little knowledge or regard for conventional recording techniques, the chaotic results speak for themselves. Distorted vocals, out of tune harmonies, ragged musicianship and everything pushed to the red. The clatter of mic stands falling over mid performance, the rustling of lyric papers, the missed key changes and flubbed lines. Everything you would want to avoid is here. Self-funded, self-recorded and self-released to a fanfare of silence, Vol 1 was a true D.I.Y. effort from start to finish. No great ambition, no target audience, no press support. Just a collection of songs for anyone who would listen. With it’s mix of budget horror lyrics, Everly Brothers obsessed harmonies, downer rock riffs, overly long guitar solos and bizarre high pitched vocals, Vol 1 had very limited appeal outside a small group of underground fanatics.

Darius Rucker/When Was The Last Time
Vinyl LP pressing. 2017 release, the long-awaited fifth studio country album from the platinum-selling vocalist and Hootie & The Blowfish frontman. Rucker spoke with Billboard about teaming up with esteemed Nashville producer Ross Copperman (Dierks Bentley, Brett Eldredge, Keith Urban) to bring his vision for the album to life. On top of being a genius with the equipment, Ross is so high-energy and funny; that kid is never not laughing. He added, Every time we were in the studio we had a great band who had great ideas of their own, so it was the farthest thing from tedious, but just, let’s get in and do it. I think for the whole record we spent just three days tracking music.
Damned/Music For Pleasure
Limited edition. 140 gram purple. Digitally remastered edition of this 1977 album by the punk icons. The Damned’s second album Music For Pleasure was produced by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason after the band’s attempts to lure Syd Barrett from his reclusion failed. Music For Pleasure featured new guitarist Lu Edmunds, as well as guest saxophonist Lol Coxhill. The album was the last album length studio release to feature original guitarist Brian James, who would rejoin the band in the late ’80s and early ’90s for a live album and studio single. It was also the group’s final album release for Stiff Records. It saw the band move into more complex song structures, while maintaining the punk sound of their debut album. At the time of it’s release, the album was seen as a disappointment by the press and fans alike but time has been kind to it, and the record now stands out from many recordings by the band’s contemporaries, showing a more experimental and less derivative side to The Damned.
John Carpenter/Anthology:Movie Themes 1974-1998

As the director and composer behind dozens of classic movies, Carpenter has established a reputation as one of the greatest filmmakers in the history of modern cinema, as well as one of it’s most influential musicians. The minimal, synthesizer-driven themes to films like Halloween, Escape From New York, and Assault on Precinct 13 are as indelible as their images, and their timelessness was evident as Carpenter performed them live in a string of internationally sold-out concert dates in 2016. Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 collects 13 classic themes from Carpenter’s illustrious career together on one volume for the first time. Each theme has been newly recorded with the same collaborators that Carpenter worked with on his hit Lost Themes studio albums: his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies. Anthology is a near-comprehensive survey of John Carpenter’s greatest themes, from his very first movie, the no-budget sci-fi film Dark Star, to 1998’s supernatural Western, Vampires. Those sit alongside the driving, Led Zeppelin-influenced Assault on Precinct 13 theme, Halloween’s iconic 5/4 piano riff, and the eerie synth work of The Fog. Carpenter and his band also cover Ennio Morricone’s bleak, minimalist theme for The Thing.

You Make It Feel Like Christmas is the fourth studio album by the former No Doubt vocalist. Stefani is a singer, songwriter, fashion designer, actress, and television personality. During No Doubt’s hiatus, Stefani embarked on a solo pop career in 2004 by releasing her debut studio album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. In 2006, Stefani released her second studio album The Sweet Escape. Her third solo album This Is What the Truth Feels Like was released in March 2016 and became her first solo number-one album on the Billboard 200.

Oasis/Dig Out Your Soul
Limited double 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Dig Out Your Soul is the seventh and final studio album by English rock band Oasis, released on 6 October 2008 by Big Brother Records. It was recorded between August and December 2007 at Abbey Road Studios, and January and March 2008 at The Village Recorder. The album spawned three singles. The first single, “The Shock of the Lightning”, was released shortly before the release of the album, on 29 September 2008. In promotion of the album, the band embarked on a world tour, debuting in Seattle at the WaMu Theater, and continuing for eighteen months. In 2009, the tour concluded (due to Noel Gallagher quitting the band) with major dates at some of the UK’s biggest stadiums, notably the new Wembley Stadium, Sunderland’s Stadium of Light and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield. They also performed three hometown shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park.
The Full Monty (Music From The Movie Soundtrack)

The Full Monty is a 1997 British comedy-drama film directed by Peter Cattaneo, starring Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, William Snape, Steve Huison, Tom Wilkinson, Paul Barber and Hugo Speer. The film tells the story of six unemployed men, four of them former steel workers, who decide to form a male striptease act (à la Chippendale dancers) in order to gather enough money to get somewhere else and for main character, Gaz, to be able to see his son. Gaz declares that their show will be better than the Chippendales dancers because they will go “the full monty”-strip all the way-hence the film’s title. Despite being a comedy, the film also touches on serious subjects such as unemployment, fathers’ rights, depression, impotence, homosexuality, body image, working class culture and suicide. The Full Monty was a major critical success upon release and an unexpected international commercial success, grossing over $250 million from a budget of only $3. 5 million. It was the highest-grossing film in the UK until it was outsold by Titanic. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Music Score, winning the last. The film was later adapted into a musical in 2000 and a play in 2013. For the first time in 20 years, the soundtrack of The Full Monty is now available on vinyl.
