It was 50 years ago when The Beatles’ John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr astonished and delighted the world, ushering in the Summer of Love with Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, a groundbreaking masterwork that became popular music’s most universally acclaimed album.

The deep, acoustic blues sessions took place in Milan Italy and were recorded live in the studio. The result captured the special musical connection that Guy and Fabrizio possess from the years of playing and recording together.
Sonny & Brownie’s Last Train marks the 14th recording by Guy Davis in his storied career and his third with M.C. Records. His first “Juba Dance” was produced by Fabrizio Poggi and also recorded in Italy.
Guy Davis explains the concept of the recording, Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry were two musicians whose work will not be surpassed, let alone improved on. This musical opus, was produced by Fabrizio Poggi. It features our combined musical talents, and is not meant to compete with the originals. It’s meant to be a love letter to Brownie and Sonny signed by the both of us. They were two of my favorites.
Sia/Some People Have Real Problems
Vinyl LP pressing. Some People Have Real Problems is the fourth studio album by Australian singer Sia. Originally released in 2008, the album featured singles including “Day Too Soon”, “The Girl You Lost to Cocaine” and “Soon We’ll Be Found”. In live performances of the latter song, Sia used sign language to accompany her singing. The album displays a more upbeat pop-style than Sia’s previous downbeat albums, whilst show-casing Sia’s vocals on a number of big ballads. Non-single track, “Buttons”, received attention due to it’s video in which Sia’s face is distorted by pegs, string, net, condoms and many other things.

The album was nearly finished before Moore tweaked the mix on the song “Familiar Faces,” which then spiraled into a full co-production job. Sam Amidon/Following Mountain
Vinyl LP pressing. 2017 release. Created with producer Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Regina Spektor) and frequent collaborator Shahzad Ismaily, The Following Mountain represents a new approach for Sam Amidon, who shifts here from his previous norm of re-working traditional folk songs and presents nine wholly original compositions, with some lyrics drawing on traditional sources. The album features a rare guest appearance by drummer Milford Graves, known initially for his work in the 1960s with free jazz legends Albert Ayler and Sonny Sharrock. The Following Mountain was made during two distinct recording sessions: an initial weekend in Brooklyn where Ismaily and Amidon brought in Graves, percussionist Juma Sultan (Jimi Hendrix), and saxophonist Sam Gendel for a heavily improvised session; followed by time in the studio over the summer in London, where Amidon worked with Leo Abrahams to shape and develop the songs.
John Mayer/Search For Everything
Double 180 gram vinyl LP pressing including digital download. On his 10th album, The Search For Everything, John Mayer meditates on getting older. “Time’s been talking to me/Whispering in my ear,” he sings on Changing, a wistful song about embracing life’s complexities. While some of the album’s songs read like diary entries from a man in reflection, others display a forward momentum. Shrugging off some of that inner torment in the name of fun, The Search For Everything is loose, lively, and delightfully diverse, finding him dabbling in funk, folk, blues, and soul, with support from the John Mayer Trio. It’s taken John Mayer two decades to sound this peaceful, and now, he wants us to go with the flow, too.
