As members of the music and retail community, it almost seems disingenuous to wish all a Happy Thanksgiving, but, we do sincerely hope the great folks that we know or have come to know will reflect on their lives and find some peace and happiness. We have had a tough year, filled with loses of loved ones, so dear to our hearts. We are healing through the power of music and our love of life.
We have dipped our toes in the super-hyped business of Black Friday RSD. We won’t open at 4am. We won’t have big screen televisions and microwaves for $1. We won’t bankrupt ourselves with super duper deep discounts. We don’t expect long lines of bargain hunters. We don’t have hundreds of RSD Black Friday titles. If our customers find titles above their budgets, ask for a reasonable discount, but we know we can’t please everyone. After almost six months in business, we are on a short, but steep learning curve.
We want to represent the calm, in this money storm. We want to celebrate small businesses and those of us who believe in the power of music. We are striving to remove some of the hustle and bustle of BF and will have tunes spinning on the turntable, live music from seven bands (thank you Benjamin Hughes), fun, food and drink. We will have bins full of very carefully curated new vinyl records tomorrow and everyday.
Happy Thanksgiving and hope to see you this weekend.
